- No new winners were added to the Ohio winners list this weekend. We had our first three repeat winners with Broc Martin taking home the checkers at Wayne County, DJ Foos collecting the win at Fremont Speedway, and Justin Peck bagged the All Star win at Sharon.
- Sometimes you have to be lucky to win, and Broc Martin took advantage of Tyler Street’s misfortune to steal the win. Street was coming to the checkers when a lapped car spun in front of him, leaving him nowhere to go.
- Guys better watch out once Street gets rid of his bad luck. He’s lost a race in about every way possible this year, and he still has a win at Ohio Valley Speedway. He and his team seem to be clicking well, they just need some luck.
- I mentioned in the Dirtrackr.com Conversations podcast that DJ Foos and Nate Dussel were my top dogs for Fremont. They finished 1-2 Saturday night and I anticipate it being another great, season-long battle between them for the 2021 Track Championship.
- The All-Stars returned to Ohio Saturday night for the Buckeye Cup at Sharon Speedway. 41 cars were in attendance. As mentioned, Peck took the win, with Cole Duncan second and Ian Madsen third.
- Dave Blaney took the checkered flag in third, but failed to go to the scales, so he was DQ’d and credited with 25th. Other notables include Lee Jacobs in 7th, Cap Henry in 8th, and Paul McMahan 9th, from 24th.
- Going back to car counts, in addition to the 41 cars at Sharon, 26 were in attendance at Wayne County, and 22 at Fremont, which gives us 89 in total on track in Ohio Saturday.
- Dustin Stroup got around Matt Foos to claim the 305 win at Fremont. Paul Weaver rounded out the podium.
- Trey Jacobs did double duty at Wayne County behind the wheel of both a 410 and making his modified debut. His steering broke during the 410 feature, and he was running third in the modified when he spun out, made his way back up to fourth before cutting a tire.
- A big weekend is on tap May 7th and 8th. The World of Outlaws and USAC Sprint Cars invade Eldora for the #LetsRaceTwo weekend, the NRA 360’s open up Limaland Friday, the OVSCA invades Muskingum County Saturday and Sharon Speedway has their Super Series Sprints on Saturday. The 305’s will be in action at Attica Friday, and the IMCA 305’s Saturday at 35 Raceway.
